NGBS BRONZE
H3C is a mixed-use, multi-building affordable housing development with 192 units. H3C represents the project focus on Health, Commerce, Culture and Community.
The project consists of two apartment buildings with shared site site and amenities. The building on Oretha Castle Haley Blvd has 100-units designed for families with ground floor commercial spaces dedicated community health organizations. The building on Baronne St has 92-units for seniors aged 62 and above. Both are dedicated to providing permanently affordable housing. The larger goal is to foster healthy outcomes and reinforce the shared commerce, culture and community of the historic Oretha Castle Haley Blvd corridor in the Central City neighborhood. The different elements of the projected are broken up to enliven the urban context and provide connection to the surrounding community.
Within the site, the buildings are interconnected at the ground level, at elevated courtyard areas and open stairs and walkways to encourage resident interaction, healthy activities and connect with the outdoors and the neighborhood. The project is NGBS Green Certified and is FitWel certified for Healthy Buildings and Communities.
